The Professional Laser Series line of computer-controlled CO2 laser cutting, marking and engraving systems will replace Universal Laser Systems' M, V and X systems. The line's four models include design improvements to the laser cartridge, platform chassis, system electronics and software interface. New features include the “Laser Interface +,” a materials-based print driver that allows users to choose between automatic or manual control over power, speed and other system settings. In addition, the units are available with the company's high-power density focusing optics (HPDFO), which allow direct marking on uncoated metals such as steel, chrome, iron and titanium without requiring metal marking compounds.
