Ametek Acquires Creaform
The acquisition will expand Ametek鈥檚 noncontact metrology offerings.

Ametek (Berwyn, Pennsylvania) has acquired Canada’s Creaform (Lévis, Quebec), a developer and manufacturer of portable 3D measurement technologies and provider of 3D engineering services. Its products include several families of handheld 3D scanners, portable coordinate measuring machine sand related accessories used for reverse engineering, dimensional inspection and non-destructive testing, among other applications.
Creaform joins Ametek as part of its Electronic Instruments Group (EIG) and expands Ametek’s range of noncontact metrology offerings. The added customer base is expected to help grow Ametek’s existing Taylor Hobson and Solartron Metrology businesses.
