Emag LLC will hold its annual Technology Days event at the North American headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, near Detroit, June 6-7, 2018. The event will include live demonstrations of machine tools as well as a series of technical and market presentations by industry experts. Topics will cover the machining and joining technologies the company currently brings to the market including vertical milling, electrochemical machining (ECM), laser and induction hardening.

Presentations on June 6 will cover material science and technology, while those on June 7 will emphasize machining and assembly. The event is free, and interested parties can register online at Emag’s website, which includes the full agenda. Engineers will be on hand to explain the equipment on display, including the Emag Mind-M 250, a compact modular induction hardening machine. 

The machine tools on display will include: 

• The VT 4 two-turret vertical lathe, which uses vertical alignment technology to eliminate chip clusters in the machining area
• The VL 4 vertical turning machine, which can machine diameters as large as 200 mm and can interlink with multiple machines for full-production automation
• The VL3 Duo multi-spindle machine, which can machine parts as large as 150 mm in diameter and can use both live and static tools
• The VSC 400 combined turning and grinding center, which can perform both turning and grinding operations in a single setup

The June 6 keynote presentation will be a discussion of innovative propulsion systems. The June 7 keynote will be about e-mobility trends and their impact on the traditional manufacturing landscape in the automotive supply chain. Peter Loetzner, Emag CEO for North America, will lead the event.
