Haas Automation Inc. (Oxnard, California) has announced that it is the official machine tool supplier of the Haas Formula One team, which takes to the track in 2016 at the FIA Formula One World Championship. It will be the first American-led F-1 team in 30 years, the company says. The team’s U.S. headquarters is in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
The team currently has 17 Haas machines in its 7,000-square-foot shop. Five more Haas machines will also be installed at the team’s European headquarters in Banbury, United Kingdom. The Haas machines are currently being used to machine parts for the 60 percent scale wind tunnel models, as well as components for the team’s garage equipment.
