United Grinding (Miamisburg, Ohio) has appointed Michael Gebhardt Vice President of Operations as part of a strategy of continued growth in North America. He will manage the company’s first ever Operations Division at its new facility and serve as a member of the company’s Executive Management Team. Charged with the preparation of current and future manufacturing opportunities and responsibilities, his business function areas will include facility and property management, manufacturing, production planning, supply chain management, logistics, and quality. Additionally, he will spearhead the implementation of the company’s recent Puls and 5S quality standards at the new facility.
Mr. Gebhardt will steer United Grinding’s digital transformation and the creation of its first smart factory in North America, which will entail big data-gathering and analytics throughout the facility. This initiative will help the company to better manage workflow, inventory, production and other resources to deliver solutions to its customers faster.
