Walter Surface Technologies (Windsor, Connecticut) has published an industry white paper entitled “Documented Cost Savings for Abrasives.” The white paper formally reports on four companies in a range of industry types, investigating how much money can be saved by switching out an abrasive. Product Manager Tom Morris, the paper’s author, spent several months conducting comparative tests in the lab as well as in the field on customers’ own equipment.
Dan Pirro, vice president of marketing, explains that documented cost savings (DCS) programs are “part of a larger movement towards providing value-added solutions to customers.” Over the years, Walter’s DCS program has evolved to a three-step program that provides information to the end user regarding discarded abrasive analysis, safety and performance analysis.
