Spirit Tool says its Arbor System enables rigid, low-profile mounting of side milling cutters or slitter saws. According to the company, primary benefits are versatile tool positioning and rigid cutter mounting for improved performance and accuracy.
In use, the cutter is positioned in the arbor assembly and secured with coupling nuts. The coupling nut is tightened by hand, so no wrenches are required. The arbor assembly is then inserted into the spindle of the milling machine, where it is retained by the drawbar. The company’s cutter-holding feature permits virtually all the drawbar tightening force to be transmitted directly to the cutter faces.
