MultiCam’s five-axis bevel plasma head features aluminum castings for weight reduction and rigidity. The compact, durable cutting head includes features to protect against crashes and ease maintenance. According to the company, the plasma head provides maximum table coverage for more flexible machining. Although the company’s plasma machines are able to move simultaneously in the X, Y and Z axes, the five-axis head adds two additional axes of movement, “phi” and “theta.” According to MultiCam, the plasma head enables the system to cut complex workpieces with bevels ranging to 45 degrees in 2"-thick mild steel.
