Mitsubishi Materials’ IMX-series end mills feature a “carbide-on-carbide” face-taper contact connection with through-head coolant for machining of heat-resistant alloys. The end mills are assembled by bringing the precision-ground carbide head and holder surfaces together for a simultaneous face and taper contact, transforming two pieces of carbide into a one-piece tool.
The IMX milling system is available in a variety of metric and inch diameters with through-coolant shanks and heads. The latest expansion to the series includes a straight-shank semi-long carbide holder; “Over Size” heads for most shapes to enable interference-free machining of walls and floors; the IMX-S4HV and IMX-C4HV long-cutting-edge heads; and the IMX-C4FD-C high-feed duplex corner radius head designed for high-feed floor finishing of heat-resistant materials.
