The Jucrank 6000 is an extension of the Erwin Junker Machinery’s Jucrank line. With a clamping length as long as 1,500 mm, a grinding length as long as 1,400 mm and rotating diameters as high as 280 mm, the grinder is useful for grinding truck and heavy-duty cranks. According to the company, a primary feature and benefit of the machine is that it can be equipped with two independent CBN wheel heads, permitting the grinding of two main bearings or two pin bearings simultaneously. What potentially results is time savings and enhanced throughput.
Furthermore, crankshafts can be completely ground in one setup, eliminating secondary operations and promoting that tolerances are held. Geared for production, the machine features in-process gaging and automatic compensation while grinding. The CBN wheel and oil coolant combination is said to offer long wheel life, and all functions are under CNC control, including the coolant nozzles.
The company also cites two noteworthy aspects of the equipment: the GE Fanuc control’s “learning” mode, which supervises itself and responds to environmental conditions, and the hydrostatic guideways. The hydrostatic X column, when combined with the hydrostatic feed, is said to offer virtually contact- and wear-free conditions for accurate positioning.
Other construction attributes include vibration-reducing, torsion-resistant gray cast iron machine bases and a three-point clamping system on the grinding spindle, workpiece spindle and tailstock center sleeve..
