Harvey Tools says its CBN miniature end mills are useful for mold and die applications and allow users to complete an entire finishing operation without changing tools. Designed for finishing hardened steels ranging from 52 to 68 Rc, the tools consist of a CBN tip on a 4 mm, micro-grain carbide shank with two straight flutes and a reduced neck. With a radius tolerance of ±0.005 mm, the tools are available in diameters ranging from 0.6 to 2 mm. According to the company, tool life is longer than that of carbide tools.
