Iscar introduces the Jetcut coolant-through tools for turning, grooving, threading and parting. The configuration the tool line ensures that coolant is delivered precisely and with enough force to reach the cutting zone as a liquid, unlike other systems that often result in a delivery of a less effective coolant vapor to a critical zone. These tools can handle pressure ranging to 4,900 psi (340 bar) and are available in both inch and metric shank sizes. As many modern Swiss-type machines are equipped with high-pressure pumps, the new tools will enhance performance, the company says.
The first-choice inserts to be used on Jetcut tools are flat-top inserts without chip deflectors. This feature helps to eliminate buildup and improve chip control, especially when machining stainless steel and high-temperature alloys.
