The rectangular inserts of the Helido490 feature four helical, right-hand cutting edges. The standard corner radius is 0.031" and features a wiper that is said to provide good surface finish. In addition, the combination of the custom-designed positive chip deflector with new carbide grades can offer durability while extending tooling life. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel and cast iron, the tool machines 90-degree shoulders as deep as 0.630"; plunges up to 0.394" side step; and performs slotting and facing operations.

The insert is designed to clamp into an inclined dovetail pocket, thereby providing a rigid method of clamping.听 End mills are available in diameters of 1.25" and 1.50", and the face mills are available in diameters ranging from 2.0" to 6.0".听 Face mills are available in fine and coarse pitch configurations as well.

The square inserts of the Helido845 feature eight helical, right-hand cutting edges. When clamped using a M5 screw into an inclined dovetail pocket, the insert offers favorable holding capabilities while machining, the company says. Tools are available with diameters in sizes ranging from 2.0" to 8.0" and can machine slanted shoulders as deep as 0.276".
