is a supplier of precision subtractive manufacturing machine tool solutions with experience and a core focus in non-traditional disruptive machining capabilities.
Manufacturing demands improved Takt times, reduction of overall component costs, advancement in materials, development of exotic alloys, identification of advanced manufacturing methods and hybrid technology solutions to re-establish industry competitiveness.
Among RM Group’s offerings is precise electro-chemical machining (pECM). pECM offers predictable and repeatable results in sub-micron tolerances with surface finishes to Ra.02, according to the company. RM equates it to EDM on steroids — with a single electrode, speeds greater than 10 times that of conventional EDM, surface finishes in the micrometer range and no heat affected layers. It dissolves material layer-by-layer instead of burning, and electrodes last for hundreds — if not, thousands — of production parts prior to redress, according to the company.
Also offered by RM Group is traditional electro-chemical machining (ECM). Used for final surface finishing or the introduction of difficult features or geometries in components. ECM assists with creating components not possible via traditional manufacturing methods.
Another of RM Group’s solutions is laser and automated component manufacturing integration. Lasers systems down to less than 1u are available. RM Group says it has experience with green, red, pico, traditional-fiber, Co2 and more. Whatever the production need, RM Group says it has the proper solution.
