The Cobalt Dominator laser marking and etching system from Laser Marking Technologies features a 10-W, European pulsed fiber laser source with increased depth of focus for fast, precise and clean permanent part marking, the company says. The pulsed fiber laser source is said to reduce power consumption versus YAG lasers. In addition, no chiller is required, and there is no routine maintenance.
 
The compact, portable table-top unit requires minimal shop-floor space with a machine footprint of 24" × 28" × 26.5". The system features a 160 FL lens (field size 4.33" × 4.33"); a 160 FL lens max workpiece size of 5" × 12" × 20"; a proprietary LMT digital scan head; and 1,064 nm wavelength. The electrical requirement is 110 V (15 amps).
 
The laser marking system is available with options such as a fume/dust extractor and a mobile work station. It also includes a PC, software and an instructional PDF. According to the company, no on-site training is needed.
