Designed for small-part manufacturing applications, the Deco-Flex tooling interface from Exsys is said to offer flexibility, precision and cost savings. It is suitable for use on turning and milling centers with limited working areas, and the interface’s minimal envelope dimensions are said to enable a variety of machining approaches. Its compact design helps to ensure maximum torque transmission and rigidity, resulting in high machining accuracy and productivity as well as increased machine tool efficiency, the company says.
The tooling system features a conical and flat-face planar interface to promote concentricity and repeatability for precise machining, as well as adapters that combine with fixed and/or rotary toolholders to optimize tool performance and increase flexibility. The system also enables simple adapter and tool changes to be completed more quickly, and tools can be preset off the machine, reducing setup times and increasing machine uptime.
