The Prodigy GT-27 gang tool lathe features a polymer composite base that resists oxidants and thermal distortion and provides vibration resistance, quality part surface finish and long tool life. The capability to index in 1-degree increments allows live tooling to be used for a variety of side drilling and milling operations.
The lathe has a Fanuc control and brushless digital servodrives. It provides spindle speeds up to 6,000 rpm and works with barstock up to1 1/16" in diameter. Since gang tool design has no turret, this lathe is said to provide faster cycle times and better precision by eliminating turret tool changes. The lathe can be customized with live tools, bar feeders, loaders/unloaders and other options.
