Rollomatic’s six-axis GrindSmart 830XW combines hydrostatic technology and linear motors to produce large and small tools with non-contact, friction-free slide movements. It has a synchronous direct-drive grinding spindle for a mirror-like surface finish. Its precise ball radius shape is accurate to below 0.005 mm. The grinder’s compact 15-position wheel and nozzle are said to change from arbor to arbor in less than five sec. Flexible automation and six axes accommodate projects ranging to as many as 4,000 pieces.
