Supfina Machine Company’s Spiro series of surface-finishing systems supports fine grinding with precise plane parallelism (less than or equal to 1.0 micron) for precision bearings, pump gears and valve plates. The machines process a range of materials from aluminum to steel and soft plastics to hard ceramics.
The company says that in addition to recycling coolant, the Spiro series eliminates water from the cooling process and, as a result, reduces the chance of contamination. The machine’s base design is said to minimizes vibration, thus reducing tool wear, and the machine’s modular design promotes quick tool change.
