Twenty-eight different wheelheads are available, including diagonal, universal and tandem models with application-oriented swivel devices such as high resolution, absolute measurement B axis with the option to extend the technology to a second B-2 axis; an indexing axis with incremental proximity coded scaling for the X and Z axes; and a high-resolution C axis that is said to enable the control to operate to its fullest capabilities. In addition to external and internal grinding, the new machine can perform multiple operations involving opposed faces, bores, tapers, polygons and tapered non-rounds, as well as threads in one cycle.
