Rethink Robotics has released the ClickSmart series, a solution for end-of-arm tooling that incorporates smart sensing and rapid swapping capabilities. The series includes five different categories of gripper kits and a plate with embedded sensing, gripper recognition, and the ability to access actuators and sensors through the company’s software platform.
The plate lets users quickly swap end effectors by hand without any tools. When the plate is attached to any Sawyer robot, the robot will immediately recognize the type of end effector and how to control it with no programming needed.
The gripper kit contains components to construct end effectors suitable for most automatable tasks, enabling faster deployments. It also has an embedded memory module that stores the configuration of the attached end effector.
The gripper kits reduce sourcing efforts for manufacturers and are available in large and small pneumatic, large and small vacuum, and foam vacuum options.
