Designed for versatility, improved finish and longer tool life, Carmex’s additions to its groove milling line feature six flutes made of MT8-grade carbide with advanced PVD triple coating for high heat and wear resistance in high-performance and normal operations. Six spiral flutes deliver greater productivity through minimized cycle time as well as reduced cutting forces and smooth action for better finish, the company says. A large flute space speeds chip evacuation, and the tools are designed for high stability and vibration prevention.
The company says that these tools are useful for machining deeper holes while allowing for higher overhang. The mills can be used on equipment ranging from large machining centers to Swiss-type lathes. Equipped with an internal coolant bore, the same tool can be used for internal and external grooving.
