Republic-Lagun has introduced the GT-32, a high speed, gang tooling CNC lathe. Using a ribbed cast iron base, an extra-wide bed and hardened and ground ways, the lathe offersÌýrigidity for close tolerance machining, the company says.

The lathe can accommodate a workpiece as long as 7.87", with a bar capacity of 1.250". The spindle drive is 5 hp (3kW), with a spindle speed range of 150 rpm to 5,000 rpm. A 7" × 16" gang tooling plate accommodates 5/8" capacity toolholders.

The machine employs a Fanuc Oi-t two-axis CNC system. According to the company, minimum operator training is required using this control. Also included are oversized preloaded ballscrews and a spindle with double-row P4 angular contact ball bearings.
