Chiron’s 26 series horizontal machining centers are designed for large workpieces such as gear housings, structural parts or components made up of high-temperature-resistant steel. The series offers machines with bridge dimensions ranging from 1,250 to 3,000 mm, with Y and Z axis travels measuring 630 mm each. The single-spindle version can be equipped with a swivel head, while the double-spindle design offers spindle distances of 600 or 900 mm.
The machining centers provide torque ranging to 390 Nm and spindle speeds as high as 10,000 rpm for high cutting performance in cast iron and steel parts. An HSK-A 63 tool taper version with spindle speeds ranging to 16,000 rpm is also available. The series is suitable for aluminum structural parts such as those required in the automotive and aerospace industries. A rotary table program is available for five-axis applications.
