The Schunk Tendo-ES is a short, hydraulic-expansion toolholder that allows the tool to be clamped directly in the mounting taper. The tool shank is supported via the spindle, and the result is a high holding force for transferable high torque and additional space in the machining area. The company’s 26-mm Tendos-ES L1 model has a runout accuracy of less than 0.003 mm, and is designed for tools to be changed in seconds with an Allen key. This model is suited for powerful rough machining, HPC/HSC, drilling, reaming, tapping, thread milling and thread forming. Benefits include quality surfaces, workpieces with dimensional accuracy and increased tool life, the company says.
