The company has introduced a radius cutter capable of milling up to seven different radii per load, along with chamfer milling capabilities. Using its existing insert as a base, the company has ground all the forms necessary to mill 1/32" to 1/4" radii and chamfer as well. Toolholders were developed to position the insert for workpiece edge work.
Rather than make and stock an insert for each form, the company developed a method to have as many forms as possible on each insert. With two tools, 1" and 3/4" shanks and the two different 1" long inserts, users will have a range of applications, the company says.
Using the insert locating system, a rigid, precise and precision-ground platform is provided by the tool body to obtain surface finish and long tool life, the company says. Leave the tool in the toolchanger to tackle any corner finishing.
