The ISG2200-WK and ISG3200-WK shrink-fit units by Bilz combine thermal induction shrinking technology with a water-based cooling process to facilitate quick tool changes, says LMT-Fette. Using a processor-controlled, high-frequency generator, coil geometry, and tolerance parameters, the units allow carbide tools and HSS tool shanks to be clamped.

Designed for use with Bilz ThermoGrip toolholders, the series features a custom method of direct water-cooling that, according to the company, can reduce cooling time compared to conventional methods. The ISG2200-WK offers clamping ranges from 1/8" to 3/4" (3 mm to 20mm) for carbide, and ranges for HSS are 1/4" to 3/4" (6 mm to 20mm). Clamping ranges for the ISG3200-WK are from 1/8" to 1 1/4" (3 mm to 32mm) for carbide, and 1/4" to 1 1/4" (6 mm to 32 mm). The units accept a maximum tool length of 10" (265 mm) and 17.5" (450 mm) respectively.
