The Kellenberger 100 universal grinding machine’s FANUC 31i CNC features a simple operator guidance system on a 19" touchscreen panel. Available from Hardinge, it is designed to reduce throughput time and optimize production costs.
The machine series includes a compact wheelhead, enhanced performance parameters and a service-friendly machine concept. The compact tandem wheelhead features a motor spindle, reinforced casing for larger internal grinding wheel diameters and 10 wheelhead variations for optimum layout of the machine based on the components to be processed. Higher grinding wheel drive power increases productivity, the Z-axis guideway leads to higher profile precision, and the direct-drive C axis makes the machine more precise for non-circular grinding, according to the company.
The Kellenberger service department was involved in optimizing the machine concept. The machine is said to enable faster maintenance and service operations as well as better accessibility.
