Designed to give machine operators a clear indicator that a workpiece is in place, R&R Tool’s Lightnin Rod is a lighted work stop that detects movement of less than 0.0005". The work stop mounts to virtually any 4", 5", 6" or 8" vise by using a pre-tapped hole on the vise. It is equipped with a wireless, blue LED light that illuminates upon contact with a ferrous part and remains lit during machining, indicating the part is properly in place. According to the company, the device reduces human error as machinists no longer need to go by the “feel” of the workpiece.
The device can be used for medical applications as well as general machining.
