The KHV-400 combination machining center from Kent CNC, a division of Kent USA, combines vertical and horizontal machining capabilities for faster setups and improved accuracy. The machine enables five-sided machining in one setup within its compact footprint measuring 82" × 114". It also features a 10-hp horizontal and 15-hp vertical spindle with direct-drive motor providing speeds as fast as 10,000 rpm. A 12,000-rpm version is available as an option. Both the vertical and horizontal travels measure 19.7" × 19.7" × 17.8" in the X, Y and Z axes. Rapid traverse rates are 36 m/min. in all axes, upgradeable to 48 m/min. The rotary table is equipped with an optical scale, and a two-set automatic toolchanger accommodates 24 tools.
