The Giuliani division of IGM-USA has added the F-Cell to its line of production metalcutting equipment. The machine offers the versatility of an automatic pallet change system to a machine with as many as five axes CNC per unit and nine position tool change modules. This can allow production houses to produce part families varying in complexity. The company says low- and medium-volume parts can be run on a high-output machine, thus reducing the costs and downtime associated with complex change-over times.

A potential benefit of using this machine is flexibility. As volumes increase, these machines can be incrementally added to the cell. When the volumes mature and begin to drop, the machines can then be retooled for other products.
