Suhner offers single-tool Multi-Master flex shaft machining units that can be positioned in any direction around a workpiece. Designed for machining bulky workpieces that are difficult to fit into a rigid machine concept, the compact, self-contained machining units can be positioned in any direction around the workpiece. The modular tooling units work simultaneously so that the cycle time is determined by the longest single machining operation rather than the addition of all the tools working together. According to the company, in most cases all operations can be performed in one cycle, and there are virtually no limitations to workpiece size or the number tools that are engaged at the same time.
