The Mikron HPM 800U milling machine from GF AgieCharmilles features a sturdy, compact design and a large work envelope, making it well-suited for aerospace applications such as blisk production. X- and Y-axis travels measure 31.5" × 31.5", respectively. The Z axis provides 27.6" of clearance between the table surface and spindle nose. The machine accommodates workpieces ranging to 31.5" in diameter and 23.6" tall, with tools as long as 3.9".
The high-performance Step-Tec spindle is capable of handling applications such as large steel drilling with high-torque requirements. Inline motor spindle options include a 20,000-rpm version for general machining or a 28,000-rpm version for machining with small tools. Both options feature the HSK-A63 interface and are capable of machining complex open-die surfaces or basic materials. The 28,000-rpm spindle uses the CoolCore water-cooled rotor shaft to maintain thermal stability and maximize accuracy.
