Modern Industries’ mPower SpinSelect multi-pocket selectable toolholder is designed to promote productivity and consistency by decreasing downtime for tool and insert setups and change-overs. According to the company, it can reduce insert index time by as much as 85 percent. Designed for use on most lathes featuring a turret or tool post, the toolholder is said to improve throughput on heavy roughing, hard material removal and short runs.
The toolholder’s design enables fast indexing between its five pockets with a quarter-turn of a socket-head cap screw. Each pocket can house a different tool, enabling quick changes between operations without requalifying the tools. According to Modern Industries, the pockets are stronger than traditional shank tools, enabling the use of more rigid tools for cutting harder materials.
