With one multi-purpose tool, Magafor says it can increase production, cost savings and quality. The Multi-V multi-function carbide tool is capable of performing eight separate operations鈥攃entering/spotting, V-grooving, engraving, counter sinking, interpolation drilling, chamfering and longitudinal chamfers.
The multi-function tool can meet diameter needs ranging from 0.02 to 0.787". And because it is made from solid carbide, the tool said to provide better wear resistance and greater rigidity, making it is suited for machining centers and NC processing machines.
The tool is also available with the company鈥檚 Hard鈥橷 coating, which was derived from nano multi-layer technology. With a hardness of 3,700 Hv, this thermally stable coating protects against heat and wear. It is suited for coolant-free, high-speed cutting in heated steels and dies.
The combination of a multiple machining process reduces machine setup time and operating time. Also, the 30-degree spiral facilitates chip removal.聽
