The Tormill鈥檚 shape and clearance angle enables it to perform facing, plunging and undercutting using the same insert, according to manufacturer Iscar. The peripherally ground insert features small corner radii and balanced design to enable side-plunging, small-corner and large-overhang operations with minimal vibration.
Useful for the die/mold industry, the cutters are capable of ramping into material. With four 80-degree corners, the inserts are available with corner radii of 0.02", 0.04" and 0.06". They can be equipped with long cylindrical shanks, reduced shank diameters and with the company鈥檚 Flexfit adaptation.
