Kurt Workholding’s HD690 pull-type vise features a 9" jaw opening for clamping larger workpieces with minimal stationary jaw deflection. The vise’s AngLock design is said to reduce stress in the body for more accurate workpiece clamping.
The vise features a rigid stationary jaw and top-down bolting to reduce deflection. The extra-tall body is said to reduce clamping stress, while high-precision roller bearings and a hardened vise screw mechanism promote precision and smooth operation. The stationary jaw bolts from the top to reduce stress on the vise body and lie flatter when assembled so that the vise body does not need to be removed from the machine table for cleaning. The narrow vise body enables placing more vises in the same work envelope for increased machine productivity. The vise offers a clamping force ranging from 975 to 5,250 lbs using 10 to 80 lbs of input torque.
Additional features include quick-change machinable jaws for oddly shaped parts, a Groove-Lock jaw and workstop, sine keys for workpiece alignment, an optional swivel base, and a machinable aluminum jaw kit.
