Rotary tables are useful for machining multiple sides of a single part, or machining many parts on a multi-sided tombstone. Heavy off-center milling and drilling operations, however, can cause a rotary table to rotate slightly, affecting accuracy. To address this problem, the company introduces the HRT320FB face gear rotary table, which provides the rigidity and high-brake torque necessary to handle heavy cuts.

A Hirth-type face gear coupler provides indexing accuracy and rigidity, and the 12.6" (320 mm) diameter platter can be positioned in one-degree increments, with an accuracy of ± 3 arcseconds and a repeatability of ± 1 arcsecond. Once positioned, the platter offers 3,500 foot-pounds of brake torque, which accommodates heavy off-center milling, drilling or tapping operations.

The servomotor has an indexing speed of 80 deg/sec and spindle torque of 500 foot-pounds (678 Nm). The T-slot platter has a center height of 9" (228.6 mm) and a 3.25" (82.6 mm) through-hole. Six radial T-slots allow for mounting fixtures or workpieces, and an optional pneumatic tailstock is available. The platter has a capacity (workpiece and fixture) of up to 500 lbs (227 kg) when mounted vertically, and up to 1,000 lbs (454 kg) when mounted horizontally.

Additionally, the rotary table can interface with any CNC machine and the servo control allows integrated control and repeatable multi-step programming for rapid platter rotation in either direction.
