The J. Schneeberger Corp. offers a larger version of the Aries NGP, the NGP+, intended to be an affordable tool grinder with the power to grind larger tools automatically with a FANUC loading arm.
The Aries NGP’s direct-drive, double-ended spindle provides 10 hp of duty-rated power and the accuracy of an HSK50 wheel arbor interface. The bigger NGP+ has a slightly larger footprint and can handle tools ranging to 13" × 15¾" in size. The machine also provides integrated coolant delivery.
The FANUC robot provides fast and accurate loading of tools with two pallets and a double gripper. Schneeberger’s Quinto Qg1 CAD/CAM software is said to enable fast machine programming.
