Intended for large-batch production of transmission components, Sandvik Coromant’s GC4315 and GC4325 steel turning grades feature the company’s Inveio alumina coating technology and are said to offer high wear resistance and improved tool life. The two grades are well-suited for outer diameter turning, copying and profiling.
The GC4315 grade is capable of high-speed steel turning with a long, predictable tool life, while the GC4325 grade is a tougher grade that manages interrupted cuts and uneven depths of cut at high speeds. According to Sandvik, both grades enable high cutting speeds while preserving component quality. If the spindle speed limit prevents the full use of the grades’ capacity, maximum productivity can be achieved by applying higher feed rates, the company says.
