DMG offers the Microset VIO Linear, the company鈥檚 first series of tool presetting units with linear drives for presetting of drilling, milling and turning tools. The direct drives in the X and Z axes provide repeatable accuracy of about 卤1 micron, the company says. The units have a modular design and can measure drilling, milling and turning tools with a diameter as large as 39.37" and length as great as 39.37 mm. The units can be upgraded to automatic CNC tool adjustment with numerous options. The one-hand control allows manual and powered axis movement as well as powered precision positioning. The process is complemented by the company鈥檚 Microvision image processing software, which is available in two variants. Microvision III is described as a system for high-quality measurement with simple, error-free transfer of the tool data to the machine controls. It comes with a 17" display screen. Microvision IV is described as a fully automated measurement system that includes two 19" display screens and a maximum 67脳 magnification.
