The Cyclone 52-CS CNC turn-mill center is capable of full bar, chuck and shaft machining with a 2" bar capacity and 6" chucks. The integral main and subspindles both feature 6,000-rpm capability for fine surface finishes. Both spindles also feature C axes for complete milling and drilling in one operation on the front and back of the workpiece. The Y axis features ±40 mm off-center movement to complete off-center work in the same chucking.
The 0.3-sec. indexing of the dual, 16-station live tool turrets keeps cycle times low, and 32 tool stations can accommodate virtually any combination of live tooling or ID and OD static tools, the company says. Also, a 30-hp Mitsubishi AC-digital spindle motor enhances roughing capability. The machine power, coupled with the rigidity of heavily ribbed cast iron construction provides the rigidity to damp cutting vibration. Coupled with the machine’s power, this improves productivity and provides quality surface finish and improved tool life, the company says.
