Useful for turning large parts, the You Ji VTL-1600ATC-IIavailable from Absolute Machine Tools, Inc.features ribbed Meehanite castings that can minimize thermal distortion while dampening vibration. Both X and Z axes are supported by oversized, hardened and ground box ways that foster stability and rigidity. Also contributing to overall stiffness are the symmetrical design and large column supply. Complementing these features is a 9” × 9” square ram (Z axis) that can be extended to its full 47” stroke.
Weighing 85,800 lbs, the vertical turning center is also equipped with large-diameter, preloaded Class 3 double nut ballscrews in X and Z; and servo motors that directly drive the ballscrews. All machines in the series come with an appropriate Fanuc control, servo, and spindle system to promote system reliability, precision and long-term machining performance.
