The BN1000 and BN2000 uncoated grades from Sumitomo Electric Carbide are suited for high speed to general-purpose turning in bearing and die steel manufacturing. The BN1000 is designed for increased tool life in continuous to light-interrupted cutting, and the BN2000 is designed for continuous to medium-interrupted cutting and provides a general-purpose grade for machining hardened steel.
The uncoated grades feature a high-purity ceramic binding that increases heat resistance while strengthening the tolerated cutting force. Both grades are available in single-corner and multi-corner-type inserts.
