AlibreCAM 2018, the latest version of MecSoft’s CAM solution for Alibre Design 2018, performs continuous five-axis machining operations on Alibre Design models.
Updates include Fillet and Chamfer machining methods for 2 ½ axis; Horizontal Finishing follow containment, performance and stability improvements for three axis; and Drive Surface machining for four axis. For continuous five-axis machining, methods such as Surface Normal, Curve Projection and Swarf machining have been introduced.
The company says that the new ability to perform five-axis continuous machining in AlibreCAM opens up significant productivity improvements for users.
