Chevalier’s QP-1620L VMC features a 1,891-ipm rapid speed in a 100" × 66" × 92" footprint. The VMC is constructed of Meehanite cast iron to increase stability, and its base is supported by full travel. The Z-axis, spindle-head, air counterbalance system provides smooth, quick 3D contouring.
The 27.6" × 12.6" table can accommodate 550-lb workpieces. X-, Y- and Z-axis travel measures 20.5" × 15.8" × 15", respectively. Two types of tapers are available: 40 taper with 10,000-rpm spindles or 30 taper with 15,000-rpm spindles.
The VMC provides quick pick-up speed and high-speed rigid tapping. It features 20-tool capacity, with a 1.8-sec. automatic tool change time. Other features include a Fanuc 0iM control; 8.4" LCD with a four-axis simultaneous controller; linear-circular-helical interpolation and canned cycles for drilling, tapping and profiling; and a Manual Guide 0i.
