Some features of the VMC are a chip-to-chip time of 1.9 seconds and a 4.5-ton cast mineral machine bed, which is said to offer dampening characteristics, thermal stability and rigidity. The machine bed also provides a motionless counterbalance for traverse speeds of more than 3,500 ipm, with acceleration as high as 2 G.

One or two spindle rotary tables can be integrated for machining complex parts in one setup. The FX 12K and dual-spindle DX 12K have XYZ travels of 21" x 12" x 14" (550 x 320 x 360 mm) and spindle speeds as high as 15,000 rpm.Ìý
