This video demonstrates Dapra's 2" RHINO-FEED 5-flute Shell Mill and inserts executing a Z-level roughing routine in steel. The material is 4140PH, and the machine tool used is a Fadal 4020 with a 40-taper spindle.
This routine uses Dapra’s mid-feed inserts from the new RHINO-FEED product line. The inserts are 3/8” IC and offer 4 usable edges. Outstanding metal removal rates are possible on lighter duty machines using this method.
