3D Laser Cutting And Welding System For Large Workpieces
Prima offers the Optimo 3D laser cutting and welding system for large workpieces. The five-axis system includes the CV5000 laser resonator, which is suited for high cutting speeds. It has the ability to process thicker materials and produce high cut quality with a reduced heat-effected zone, the company says.

The direct-drive head does not require gears or complex kinematics, and it is said to eliminate backlash and wear. Three independent axes provide a speed of 1.5 rev/sec and a rotating axis accuracy of 0.005 degrees. According to the company, the modular axes are designed for reliability and easy maintenance.
The C axis features a stroke of 卤10 mm and an acceleration of 4G. In addition, it automatically adapts to variations in the sheet metal, making it a true 6th NC axis, the company says.

The system also features Focal Position Control (FPC) functionality, which is said to deliver uniform cutting quality and eliminate production setup changes when alternating material types and thicknesses. The laser cutting system can also be programmed offline with 3D Cenit FasTRIM software.
