3D Systems will exhibit Geomagic Design X 2016 at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) held September 12-17, 2016, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Geomagic Design X, the industry's most comprehensive reverse engineering software, combines history-based CAD with 3D scan data processing to enable the creation of feature-based, editable solid models that are compatible with existing CAD software. Instead of starting from a blank screen, users of Geomagic Design X can create manufacturing-ready designs from a 3D scan, shaving days or weeks off the timeline from product idea to finished design.
The 2016 update features a total interface refresh for a more productive workflow. 3D solid models can be created using point cloud data before being passed on to an MCAD system.
Geomagic Design X has also been updated with Geomagic’s exact surfacing technology, making it the ultimate platform for 3D scan to data. This is in addition to the enhanced HD Mesh process that automatically takes sparse, messy, long-range data and easily interpolates it into high quality meshes.
3D Systems will feature displays in two IMTS booths. North Building, Hall B, N-68 will feature the company’s wide range of design-to-manufacturing hardware and software technologies. South Building, S-9119 will highlight 3D printing technologies.
